Pre Cons:
 

Morning Session 9:00am - 12:30pm: Assessment in Experiential Education

Description: Assessing outcomes of our EE programs allows us to refine and improve the learning experience for our students. This session on assessment in experiential education will help participants develop an outcomes assessment plan for your program, initiative, and institution. Employing a hands-on, active learning approach, this workshop includes a mix of presentation, applied tasks, small group work, and interactive discussion.  

Leader: Beth Sheehan, PhD, Professor of Sport Management, Southern New Hampshire University 

Cost: $195. per person [Note: this session will run with a minimum of 20 participants] 


Afternoon Session 1:30pm - 4:30pm: Legal Issues in Experiential Education 

Description: Examines the broad range of legal issues arising in EE, with emphasis on reciprocal rights and responsibilities of the school, work-site, and student. Liability, risk management (including waivers, assumptions of risk & insurance), protecting and accommodating student rights (ADA compliance and discrimination), tax and compensation, contractual obligations, and issues arising from use of public funds will be reviewed. Mix of lecture and "legal clinic" formats.
