Dear National Society for Experiential Education Annual Conference Attendees:

NSEE is excited to return for the fourth and final time to the Don CeSar in St. Pete Beach, Florida for our 48th annual conference. We will be celebrating our last trip to the legendary “Pink Palace” with a redesigned conference schedule full of fresh approaches sure to appeal to new and returning attendees.

Our conference theme this year is Internships & Beyond: Solutions and Strategies for the Evolving Spectrum of Experiential Education. Sessions will explore the diverse and evolving modalities and methodologies of experiential education, from experiential staples like the internship to innovative programs and initiatives guided by a different vision or definition of experiential education. Additionally, the sessions will provide solutions and strategies to equip conference attendees with ideas and resources that can be implemented at your own schools, institutions, and organizations.

In addition to our traditional 60-minute conference sessions and roundtable discussions, we are excited to incorporate a number of new features to the conference this year. Sunday night, before the conference, we will host an informal poolside “dine-around” for early arrivers to meet, mingle, and network. On Monday afternoon, there will be redesigned welcome sessions for new and returning attendees to get acclimated to the conference. Monday evening, we will have our brand new Experiential Kickoff event during which attendees will gather for an engaged, experiential start to the conference that includes interactive activities, informational booths, networking, snacks, and more. The Kickoff will be followed by our traditional “dine-around” dinner outings, moved up a day this year to allow attendees to meet and connect earlier in the conference. On Tuesday and Wednesday, we will have new Reflection sessions to provide guided frameworks through which individuals or colleagues can reflect on the conference content, extract meaning, and identify action items for their roles/institutions. On Wednesday morning all attendees will gather for fast-paced PechaKucha presentations covering a range of experiential topics.

We are also excited to have keynote speaker Michael True on Tuesday morning. Michael is the Senior Associate of Talent Development & Marketing at Messiah College and author of "InternQube: Professional Skills for the Workplace".  In 2016, he released "Faculty Manual: Academic Standards and Best Practices for Internships". His most recent contribution is "Higher Education & Experiential Learning: Select Trends and Future Ideas" in the 2018 publication, International Internships: Mission, Methods & Models. Additionally, Michael is a former NSEE Award Winner in both 1998 and 2002. Michael will provide a dynamic, informative keynote that truly speaks to the conference theme of Internships & Beyond

Lastly, one of the most exciting parts of our annual conference is the opportunity to network, socialize, and get involved with NSEE. We truly want all attendees to feel welcome and included. During the conference, NSEE Board Members and Conference Planning Committee members will be around to welcome and help you, including at the conference registration table when you arrive. We want you to leave the conference feeling like you are a part of this wonderful community!

We look forward to seeing you in September!

Sincerely,
