Description:  The death of George Floyd and the Black Lives Matter movement has renewed focus on diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). Higher education has reexamined their policies and commitment to DEI. The purpose of this session is to explore DEI planning in higher education and how the higher education community can take steps to remove barriers, address historical injustices, and adopt policies, practices, and structures that are inclusive.

1. Recognize the potential for unconscious bias for thought processes
2. Implications of bias for sectors such as higher education and the workplace
3. Integrated DEI planning, it's importance to inclusive policies and environment, and individual roles
