The Society for Experiential Education Announces New Editor in Chief for ELTHEThe Society for Experiential Education announces the appointment of Dr. Amy Cicchino as editor in chief of Experiential Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (ELTHE), the peer-reviewed journal of the Society for Experiential Education. Cicchino will assume the role following the completion of Ken O'Donnell’s term as editor-in-chief. O’Donnell will continue to serve the journal as managing editor. ELTHE serves scholars and practitioners across higher education who study, design, and lead experiential learning. Through peer-reviewed research and reflective scholarship, the journal contributes to the advancement of experiential education as a field of inquiry and practice. This leadership transition marks an important moment for the journal and for the broader community it serves. “Amy brings a deep understanding of writing, reflection, and learning as lived practice,” said Edwin Blanton, chair of the SEE Board of Directors. “Her work reflects the kind of careful, inclusive scholarship that ELTHE has cultivated. We are grateful for Ken’s leadership and confident in Amy’s ability to steward the journal’s next chapter.” Cicchino is an associate professor in the Department of Writing and Rhetoric and director of the University Writing Center at the University of Central Florida. Her research engages high-impact practices, including ePortfolios, educator professional development, and multimodal composition across the disciplines. Her scholarship explores experiential learning through writing pedagogy, reflective practice, and institutional contexts, with sustained attention to questions of learning, professional development, and equity in higher education. During O’Donnell’s tenure, ELTHE grew and transitioned to a quarterly publication schedule. The journal strengthened its peer-review processes, expanded the range of perspectives represented, and deepened its contribution to ongoing conversations about experiential learning in higher education. SEE extends its appreciation for his service and the foundation he has helped build, and looks ahead with anticipation to Cicchino’s leadership.
