The Society for Experiential Education Announces Inaugural IGNITE Regional Collaborative in Partnership with the University of Texas at San Antonio

New one-day event expands access to experiential learning through immersive, practice-based engagement

The Society for Experiential Education (SEE) will host the inaugural SEE IGNITE Regional Collaborative at the University of Texas at San Antonio, Downtown Campus, on June 5, 2026. This new one-day event is designed to expand the perspectives shared and voices engaged across the experiential education community while creating space for hands-on learning and meaningful connection.

The SEE IGNITE Regional Collaborative introduces a dynamic, practice-based format where participants actively explore ideas, test approaches, and learn through doing. Designed as a collaborative “sandbox,” the event centers inquiry, growth, and real-time application of experiential education principles.

SEE IGNITE is designed to:

  • Expand access to experiential education conversations at the regional level
  • Elevate diverse voices and perspectives across the field
  • Support hands-on exploration of ideas through applied learning

Through interactive sessions and collaborative experiences, participants will engage directly with the principles and practice of experiential education in ways that are both practical and immediately applicable.

Participants can expect

  • Interactive workshops featuring hands-on, applied learning
  • Three 75-minute sessions designed for active participation
  • Opportunities to engage with the 8 Principles of Experiential Education
  • Networking with practitioners, educators, and field leaders
